Box Score

Due West, SC— First year North Greenville University baseball coach Travis Henson has eagerly accepted the challenge of playing a tough schedule with his Crusaders.

That reality hit home quickly as NGU opened the 2009 season at Erskine College Friday afternoon,  and the 23rd ranked (NCAA II) Flying Fleet pounding out 20 hits to take a 13-4 win in non-conference action.
NGU and Erskine square off again Saturday at noon in doubleheader, also in Due West.
The Crusaders took an early lead in the top of the second with a two out two run double by Randy Stegall.
North Greenville was led at the plate by Justin Walters who was 2-5 with a double and RBI and Chad Drosieko who had two hits and a double for an RBI, and David Frazier also had an RBI double.  Devin Vance took the loss, and he was relieved by Mark Benjamin in the 5th inning, and Daniel Goodnight finished up.
