PFEIFFER TAKES 8-1 DECISION OVER NGU DIAMONDMEN SATURDAY

Pfeiffer College scored four runs in the third and three in the seventh and the Falcons limited North Greenville (0-7) to an unearned run scored by David Stegall in the sixth inning to win 8-1 in Misenheimer, NC.


Stegall, the Crusader’s leadoff hitter, went 2-4 at the plate for Coach Travis Henson’s young team.  Jairo Mateo, David Frazier, Corey Cline and Dayton Lupton managed the other hits for NGU.  Sophomore hurler Mark Benjamin went 6 1/3 innings for NGU, but was saddled with the loss on the mound.
NGU will next host a three-game series with Tusculum of the South Atlantic Conference with a single game Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Ashmore Field.  The Crusaders and Tusculum will also play a doubleheader Wednesday, Feb. 18 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
