North Greenville had the tying runs on base in the bottom of the seventh inning in both games of a doubleheader with Davis & Elkins College of West Virginia, but the Crusaders left runners on base as they dropped 7-5 and 4-3 losses.

Randy Stegall led NGU in both games, going 2-4 at the plate.  Justin Walters also had a big first game for NGU going 2-3 with a two RBI double.  The Crusaders trailed 6-3 going into the final inning and rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 7th and had the tying run on first base when Chuck Martin flew out to deep center to end the game.
In the second game, Stegall again paced the Crusaders and David Frazier went 1-3 with an RBI.  Davis & Elkins scored all four of its runs in the 5th inning, with two coming on two NGU errors.  Frazier knocked in Derek Fulmer with a single in the a 6th inning NGU rally.   NGU had the winning run on first base, but Perry Foster struck out swinging to end the inning.  Stegall got his second hit of the second game and was stranded on first when Cory Hinton K’d to the end the game.
NGU will host Davis & Elkins for another doubleheader Saturday at Ashmore Field in Tigerville.  First pitch will be at 12:00 noon.
