It’s a long way from Institute, W. Virginia near Charleston,

but the West Virginia State University Yellow Jackets seemed right at home Saturday afternoon in Tigerville as they pounded out 16 hits in a 13-2 first game win, and then had seven more in the second game 6-1 win to complete a doubleheader sweep of North Greenville at Ashmore Field.
North Greenville managed seven hits in game one, with Derek Fulmer providing the bulk of the NGU offense.  The freshman from Pelion, SC had great weekend against WVSU, as he went 2-4 while driving in The Crusaders’ only run.  Fulmer was 5-13 with seven RBI’s on the weekend.
In the second game, NGU was led by Randy Stegall who was 1-2.  Tyler Callicut (JR Pittsboro, NC) knocked in the first Crusader run in the first with a single, and Fulmer had an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning.
North Greenville will play road games at Brevard, Catawba and Anderson next week before returning to host Erskine Thursday, April 2 at 1:30 p.m.
