CRUSADERS SPLIT WITH TENNESSEE TEMPLE

Chattanooga, Tn.—The North Greenville Baseball team (36-10) split a double header Saturday with Tennessee Temple dropping the first game 4-3 while picking up a come from behind win in game two 6-4.
The Crusaders struck first in game one platting a run in the first inning and added another run in the second. Temple tied the game at two in the second inning. North Greenville retook the lead in the fifth inning but a two run sixth inning put Tennessee Temple over the top for the 4-3 win.
Mike Benjamin took the loss for NGU. Benjamin pitched 5.2 innings giving up two runs on 4 hits. Offensively NGU was led by Adam Taylor who was 2-4 with a run scored. Derek Fulmer was 2-3 with an RBI and David Frazier was 1-2 with an RBI for North Greenville.
The Crusaders found themselves in a similar position in game two. After falling behind by 1 run, NGU pulled ahead with a three run fourth inning. After pulling to within one run (3-2) in the bottom of the fourth, Tennessee Temple pulled ahead by a run with a two run homer in the fifth inning. North Greenville headed in to the final inning down by a single run.
After catcher Anthony Foulk reached on an error by the catcher, Derek Fulmer stepped to plate and launched a deep shot off of the wall for a run scoring double bringing Foulk home from first base. After advancing to third base on a wild pitch, Fulmer would score as well on a Tyler Callicutt sacrifice squeeze bunt. The Crusaders would plate one more run after David Frazier scored on a Dayton Lupton single.
The three run seventh inning would be enough to secure the game two victory for North Greenville. The Crusaders will play their last home game Tuesday April 20th at 2pm against Limestone College.
