CRUSADERS PICK UP FIRST ROUND WIN

Central, S.C.—The North Greenville Baseball Team picked up its second win in a row on Tuesday afternoon beating Toccoa Falls College 7-2 in the first round of the NCCAA Baseball Classic tournament at Southern Wesleyan University.
The Crusaders fell behind early as the Eagles platted a run in each of the first two innings. The Crusaders evened the score at two in the third inning scoring two runs on a single from Tyler Callicutt which scored Adam Taylor and Anthony Foulk.
The Crusaders would add two more runs in the sixth and seventh innings to secure the 6-2 win. Michael Benjamin picked up the win for the Crusaders after allowing two runs on four hits. Offensively, the Crusaders were led by David Frazier who picked up 2 RBI’s while going 2-4 at the plate.
The Crusaders will play the winner of Southern Wesleyan and Emmanuel College tomorrow to decide a tournament champion. The Championship game will be at 5 o’clock.
