Lady Crusaders Blow Out St. Andrews

Laurinburg, NC – The North Greenville University women’s soccer team exploded for four goals, two in each half, to down Conference Carolinas opponent St. Andrews College 4-0 on Thursday afternoon.
The Lady Crusaders scored their first goal just minutes into the game after Noelle Beasley received a pass from Danielle Simmons to put North Greenville up 1-0 in the third minute.
Junior forward Jade Salle scored her first goal of the game in the 42nd minute to give the Lady Crusaders a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
In the second half of play, North Greenville continued its attack and broke through with two more goals, one from Beasley and one from Salle.
Beasley’s second goal of the game, and fourth of the season, came in the 68th minute of play after an assist by Beth Arnold.
Salle scored her second goal of the game and team-leading seventh goal of the season to give the Lady Crusaders a four-goal advantage in the 76th minute on an assist from Noelle Gould.
Keeper Regina Ibanga recorded her second shutout of the season with five saves as North Greenville was able to outshot St. Andrews 31-8 in the match.
"It is great to get a win on the road," said head coach Jesse McCormick. "We are continuing to gain confidence going into some very important conference games."
The Lady Crusaders (4-5-1, 3-3-1 in conference) will look to continue their recent success with a road contest against Limestone College on Saturday, Oct. 8 in Gaffney, S.C. beginning at 1 p.m.
