Eight Crusaders Earn Pre-Season All-American Honors

Tigerville, SC- USA Football has announced its 2012 NCCAA Pre-Season All-American Team which includes eight North Greenville Crusaders.
On the offensive side of the ball, offensive linemen Jacob Morris and Chancellor Hudson were named to the team after each player started all 14 games in 2011. Morris is a junior center who has been a starter since his freshman season, while Hudson, a senior left tackle, has also started every game in his Crusader career.
Receivers Freddie Martino and Sean Wright were also named to the All-American team on the offense after successful 2011 campaigns. Martino, a junior, led the Crusaders in receptions (66) and receiving yards (1,066) while recording seven touchdowns. Wright returns for his senior season after leading North Greenville with 11 touchdown receptions in a 2011 season that saw him catch 37 passes for 612 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, three Crusaders were selected as All-Americans. Senior linebacker Jonathon Sharpe was honored after a 2011 season in which he recorded 79 total tackles, including team-highs of 11.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. Isaiah Johnson, a senior cornerback and punt returner, was also named to the team after another stellar season. Johnson recorded 44 tackles and four interceptions, while returning 23 punts for 325 yards (14.1 yards per return) and one touchdown. Junior lineman Zach Epting is the final Crusader on the defensive side of the All-American list after totaling 45 tackles, including four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Junior punter Jacob Buckley represents the special teams unit on the roster after a 2011 season which saw him total 51 punts for 1,743 yards (34.2 yards per punt), including 19 punts inside the 20-yard line.
