Crusaders split with St. Andrews Presbyterian

TIGERVILLE, SC- North Greenville University split a doubleheader with St. Andrews Presbyterian College Wednesday afternoon. The Crusaders won the first game 4-3, but fell in the second 8-2.
GAME 1: NGU 4 SAPC 3
Dylan Davidson pitched 6 1/3 innings, giving five hits and three runs to pick up his first win of the season. The Crusaders scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 3-0 lead. Christ Tate drove in the first two runs with a single to center field. Later in the inning, Kyle Baron plated Mike Reis with a single. Allred hit a three-run homer in the 4th inning for St. Andrews to tie the game. Then, in the eighth inning Curt Marshall's single to center field scored Corey Hinton to give NGU the victory. Cudney took the loss for St. Andrews.
GAME 2: SAP 8 NGU 2
In the second game, Kirkman picked up the win for St. Andrews, while freshman Bruce Whitehead took the loss for the Crusaders. St. Andrews scored one run in the first inning, three runs in the fourth, and four runs in the fifth inning. NGU's only two runs came in the bottom of the seventh.
North Greenville will be back in action Friday and Saturday afternoon at Erskine College.
