MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College & State University (5-3) senior lefty Michael Antonini struck out 14 over a two-hit shutout of North Greenville University (3-6) today in the home opener at John Kurtz Field.

GCSU put a pair of runs up in the first, as senior first baseman Daniel Heflin singled home Justin Mills and Hans Stancil.
A double play in the fourth scored freshman Andrew Evans who had singled two batters earlier. After freshman Chandler Snell singled home another run in the sixth to make it 4-0, GCSU put it out of reach with a five-run eighth.
Evans Brought home another run with a single in that inning, as Snell followed with another RBI single. Both men later scored, Evans on a wild pitch and Snell on a double by senior designated hitter Jeff Kolve.
Antonini (2-1) struck out eight of the final nine hitters, and 10 of the last 12 in his dominating performance. Crusader starter Bruce Whitehead (0-4) took the loss in 5.1 innings of work.
