 Jim Beverly is entering his first season as the Offensive Line coach for North Greenville University after serving two  seasons for  Brevard College in the same capacity. Jim Beverly has 13 seasons of coaching experience in high school, college and professional football. He has coached at the college level at Brevard College, Pikeville College, Charleston Southern University and East Tennessee State University, and has also coached high school football in High Springs, Fla. and in Laredo, Texas. Arena coaching experience includes the Laredo Law, Amarillo Dusters and the Arkansas Twisters. Beverly recently authored his fourth book entitled “Motivation for Football”, which will be released this year. His other works are Trench Warfare, Year in Strength and Year in Strength II.


Beverly also has six years experience as a Strength and Conditioning coach on the College and Professional level. Beverly graduated as the all-time strongest athlete to ever play at East Tennessee State University and went on to tie the then all-time NFL record for strength by benching 225 lbs forty-four consecutive times for NFL scouts. He then furthered his interests in strength and conditioning by serving as an assistant football strength coach for East Tennessee State University for two years while also coaching on the field and then received his first Head Football Strength coach position when he accepted the duties as an assistant at Pikeville College also coaching on the field. Jim Beverly was also responsible for the strength program for the Laredo Law and Amarillo Dusters.


Graduating from East Tennessee State in 2000, with a Bachelor of Science in public health, Beverly went on to receive his teaching endorsement in 2005 from Texas A&M International University.


He was an All-American and All-Conference performer at 1-AA East Tennessee State, playing center, guard, and tackle throughout his career. He went to training camp with the Carolina Panthers, and played in NFL Europe with Frankfurt Galaxy and the Barcelona Dragons. He also played in AF2 with the Cape Fear Wildcats. He also gained experience on rosters for the AF2 Macon Knights and the AFL’s Chicago Rush.

Coach Beverly was recently wed to Heather Ruth Robins on June 12 and they currently reside in Travelers Rest, SC
